Over the past few months, I have had the privilege of teaching people in several wards and stakes about food storage and emergency preparedness. I have met a variety of people from various economic circumstances who are trying to help their families become better prepared.
There is much we can learn from each other and so much strength in the people in these wards and stakes. When I come to teach, I usually feel somewhat inadequate knowing each ward has many capable teachers and leaders. However, when those fear thoughts enter my mind, I quickly push them aside because I have faith that Heavenly Father knows my gifts and that there is usually someone in my class that I can lift. Someone who needs to know they are not alone, and yes, they can get through their trial.
It is because of this faith, that I find the courage to teach. We did not come to this earth empty handed. It is sometimes difficult to see our own gifts, but I know we each have them and can use them to help others.
Today I thought I would share a Mormon Messages video entitled "Courage." As we push forward each day, may we each discover our gifts and have the courage to use them.
